When it comes to running your Everhot in a sustainable and cost-effective way, many owners are choosing to invest in a battery to assist with powering their homes. Battery storage works seamlessly with a solar installation too, making reducing your energy costs easier than ever before!
How does a home battery work?
Although running an Everhot Electric Range Cooker uses a fraction of the electricity of comparable range cookers, the use of a battery to power your home, makes running an Everhot even more cost-effective. There are 2 main ways to charge your battery in a cost-effective manner:
Overnight Charging
Electricity prices are typically cheaper overnight, so charging a battery overnight allows battery owners to take advantage of cheaper tariffs. The stored power can then be used to run their homes during the day, when electricity prices are higher. Charges will vary by supplier and tariff, but at the time of writing, savings of approximately 16p per kWh could be achieved by charging a battery overnight and using the stored power throughout the day.

Solar Installations
Solar pairs perfectly with batteries, enabling those with a solar installation to store their solar-generated power instead of it being exported back to the Grid. The battery will smooth out peaks and troughs of solar production during the day maximising potential savings.
Making the most of cheaper tariffs and the power of the sun, allows homes to be run incredibly cost-effectively; the outlay of the battery and installation would of course need to be factored in, but we have calculated a pay-back can be as little as 3 years.
Your Everhot
The new Everhot control box is Wi-Fi enabled and allows you to control your cooker remotely, as well as providing new Smart features.
In addition to utilising battery storage, an Everhot has several integrated energy-efficient programmes. And from 1st April 2025, all new Everhot cookers have benefited from our latest control system, meaning the cookers can be adjusted through the Everhot app.
Follow the Sun
Our ‘Follow the Sun’ setting allows owners to automatically adjust their cooker’s ECO setting to coincide with sunrise and sunset. This allows owners to make the most of their solar integration.
Smart Tariff Integration
By using the Everhot app, owners can automatically adjust their ECO schedule to take advantage of cheaper electricity rates.
