We loved seeing our Everhot Ambassador, Nicky Laceby, return to Bake Off this New Year
We’ve been working with Nicky for a while on collaborative content as she’s a big fan of Everhot, owning a cooker and more recently a stove as well, so it was extra special for us to tune in to the New Year’s Bake Off special this year.
Nicky makes baking and cooking Reels on her Instagram account nickybakesalot which now has over 25,000 followers, and her delicious baking reels for Everhot have gone down a treat (pun very much intended!). We caught up with Nicky to find out how things are going, what it was really like returning to GBBO and what she has coming up in 2025….
Happy New Year Nicky! We loved seeing you on the GBBO Bake Off New Year special, it looked like you had an absolute blast, was it as fun as it looked?
“Oh gosh it was so much fun, it felt like coming home and slipping my comfy slippers back on again. There wasn’t the same amount of pressure stepping into the tent this time because we were greeted by all the familiar and friendly faces of the production team, camera crew and the lovely Gina who heads up the amazing cleaning and dish washer fairies. Oh if only I could stay and be part of the team, now that would be a whole lot of fun.”
2024 looked like it was an amazing year for you, we especially loved the reels you’ve made using your Everhot, they’re always so fun and engaging. What plans do you have for 2025, and what are you looking forward to?
“I have loved creating my reels for Everhot and I am really looking forward to creating more through this coming year. 2024 was super busy with so many wonderful opportunities and there are many more on the horizon for 2025. I have Charity Events booked, talks lined up and summer demonstrations at food festivals. In November I am taking part in a Charity bike ride in Sri Lanka, so the training has all ready started and I am in the process of organising a series of coffee mornings which I will host to raise money for this event. Which means my Everhot will be working its magic to create beautiful bakes ready to serve up.”
Did you host Christmas this year, and if so how was it using the Everhot?
“This year must have been my lucky year as my step daughter hosted Christmas Day. However on the run up to Christmas I attended an Everhot Christmas Day Demonstration which was so informative and I had the chance to put it to good use as I hosted a early Christmas dinner/get together for friends which went without a hitch. If you have the opportunity to attended an Everhot Demonstration event I would definitely go along, you will always pick up some very handy hints.”
You recently also purchased a gorgeous little Everhot Stove in Aubergine, how have you been getting on with that, whereabouts in your home does it live?

You’ve had your Everhot cooker for a while now, do you have any hints or tips for new owners?
“Having an Everhot is like being greeted with a big hug and smile every time you walk into your kitchen. It is so faithful and never lets you down just don’t be scared to let things cook/bake in your Everhot for a little bit longer than stated in a recipe online or in a recipe book. Buy some Bakeoglide for your hotplate and cook straight onto it for example sautéing vegetables, making pancakes and the list goes on…Also if you have an induction hob, a little handy hint is you can use the simmer facility to melt chocolate in a saucepan which is a game changer for me.
Above all, as I have mentioned before if you have the opportunity to attend an Everhot demonstration day, jump at it. I did and loved every minute of it and never be afraid to ask questions. The Everhot team are always so friendly and helpful with their advice.”
