New for autumn 2023, the Everhot Electric Heater is the latest addition to our range of heat storage stoves. This efficient 1.5kW room heater works from a single 13amp plug and is designed for home and garden offices, conservatories, guest bedrooms and shepherd’s huts. In fact, any area of the house where you want to warm just the one room without turning on the central heating or lighting a fire. The Heater is hand built in our Gloucestershire factory and has a low peak load. This makes it ideal as a solar dump if you have solar panels producing excess energy without a battery to store the surplus.
Where did the idea come from?
In the summer of 2020, Everhot launched the Electric Stove to much anticipation from both the media and interior designers who loved the idea of a fireplace heater without the faff, mess and expense of a wood burner or open fire. This mini stove condensed our heat storage engineering expertise into a stylish, colourful accent point featuring a small oven hidden behind a cast iron door.
However, we found that not everyone who bought our Stove wanted an oven, and by removing this feature and sealing the door shut we were able to reduce the overall weight and price. And so, the Everhot Electric Heater was born.
The Heater has the same traditional good looks and efficiency as the Stove but, being lighter, it is easier to move from room to room each season or even into a caravan, campervan, narrowboat or shepherd’s hut for chilly summer’s evenings, holidays, or weekends away.
What is the Everhot Electric Heater made from?
The Everhot Electric Heater is hand built from a steel and cast iron heat storage construction with an aluminium top heat vent and is designed to last a lifetime. This makes it incredibly reliable and safe.
The Heater is available in the same stunning array of colours that our Cookers are, alongside our new Matt Black which gives a soft, elegant feel. From the sumptuous Sage, Dove Grey or Marine Blue to the bolder Tangerine, Mustard Yellow or Fandango Pink, it can be used to bring an accent colour into a room or brighten a dull corner. Its cute design is loved by homeowners and designers looking for a touch of elegant décor.
How does the Everhot Electric Heater work?
It is very simple really. It will be delivered to you and all you need to do is move it into position and plug it in. In fact, if you know where you want it, and the area is ready, then we are often happy to pop it into place for you ourselves when we deliver it. It works from a single 13amp plug on a 1.5 metre cable, so you just need to make sure you have a socket in the right place.
On the front left of the Heater you will see the on/off switch and on the front right there is a thermostat which you can turn up or down depending on how much heat you would like to the room.
When you switch the Heater on you will feel warmth immediately coming through the beautifully crafted heat vent on the top. After half an hour the whole body of the Heater will be up to temperature and radiating gentle constant warmth.
It is designed to be left on for long periods of time and is safe to leave on 24/7. When you do turn it off its heat storage properties mean that it will stay hot for long afterwards and continue to give out warmth. So, you can turn it off long before you actually need to if you want to save on energy.
This simplicity of use means the Everhot Heater is ideal for guests using a holiday home or guest bedroom.
Please do be aware that the Heater will get very hot and therefore can cause burns; younger children should be kept well away unless constantly supervised.
Is it only designed for unused fireplaces?
No, absolutely not. Although the Heater looks fantastic framed by a fireplace or mantle, it can also be placed in the corner of a room, under a window where a radiator might go, or near to a desk to stay warm when working from home. Due to the fact that initially much of the heat comes through the top heat vent, we advise you not to place the Heater under a worktop or countertop or under a table or desk.
Can I take my Everhot Heater in my caravan?
You can take your Everhot Heater wherever you have power, a flat protected surface and the weight can be taken. You need to allow for a 25cm gap either side of the Heater if you are placing it next to cupboards or wardrobes, and a minimum 10cm from the rear to any surface or wall. Narrowboats, shepherd’s huts, campervans, caravans, glamping, or log cabins are all perfect. Wherever you need that added warmth.
What are the running costs of the Everhot Electric Heater?
The Heater gives out between 0.3 and 1.5kW of heat an hour depending on how high you run it. So, with a standard electricity cost of 30p per kWh, your heater would cost between £1.08 and £5.40 for 12 hours of use. In comparison a typical 5kW wood burner burns around 18kg of wood in a 12 hour period. However, there are other cost benefits because an Everhot Electric Heater doesn’t require a flue or servicing and can be run from green energy sources like solar panels.
Should you leave the Heater on all of the time?
Everhot – by the very nature of its name – designs and builds heat storage products which are designed to be left on for long periods of time. The Everhot Heater can be left on all day without problems. In fact, you could leave it on for days or even months in a row if you wanted to. When it is up to temperature it uses around 0.7kW an hour. In fact, it is better to leave it on and turn the thermostat up and down, rather than switching it on and off a lot.
Can you move an Everhot Heater around your house?
The Everhot Heater weighs approximately 40kg. This means it can be moved by two adults relatively easily for small distances. It isn’t designed to be moved frequently, but should you want to heat a different room in the winter to the summer, or move it outside to a garden room or office, or indeed take on holiday in a campervan, then this can be done.
Will it heat my whole house?
No, the Electric Heater is designed to heat one room of the house, saving you money by not switching on the central heating to warm just one room. If you work from home for example it is great for warming just the office during the day. Or if you tend to spend the evening in one room only then it’s great for warming the living room or conservatory whilst you’re cooking dinner.
Where shouldn’t I use the Everhot Heater?
The Everhot Electric Heater isn’t suitable to be placed on thick or deep pile carpets. Although you don’t need a hearth, you should place your Heater on a fire-resistant hard surface, short pile carpet or wooden floor. Because the majority of the heat escapes through the top vent, you should also avoid placing it under counter or worktops or under desks.
How do I clean my Everhot Heater?
The exterior surface of the Heater should only be cleaned with a warm soapy cloth using washing up liquid. Never use abrasive sponges or caustic cleaning products like Mr Muscle. The longer you leave a mark or a spill on the Heater, the harder it will be to clean it, so try and clean immediately you notice something. Do not use a steam cleaner. Never immerse the Heater in water.
The Everhot Heater comes with a two year warranty.
